The Focal 130 AC car speakers have marked flat metal terminals. The speaker cable must be crimped into a terminal with the correct width before connection.
Pay attention to polarity! The car speaker terminal block has a positive and a negative terminal. It is very important to correctly connect the positive terminal on the back of the amplifier to the positive terminal of the car speaker, and do the same with the negative terminals.

Why is this so important? The direction of current flow through the car speakers determines the direction of movement of the speaker membrane: forward or backward. If the wiring of one or more speakers is reversed, the speakers are in phase inversion: the membranes of the poorly connected speakers move in the opposite direction to the others. This results in a certain dissonance and, above all, imbalance, an impression of inconsistency in the soundstage, as well as losses of certain frequencies. To prevent this, speaker cables are marked to make it easier to identify each terminal.
Focal ES15 2×1.5mm² Car Speaker Cable – The Focal ES15 cable is designed for car speaker wiring. The cover of one of the two conductors is marked for easy polarity identification.
This marking can take many forms: some manufacturers adopt a sheath with a different color (red and black) or a different profile (round and square) for each conductor, others print the “+” and “-” signs along the entire length of the sheath.
